Want to make a map of Indonesia with a leaf? yes, we can do with photoshop. In this photoshop tutorial we’ll create a map of Indonesia using leaf texture, and gives a little touch to make an interesting background.
Final Image Preview
Before we get started, take a look at the image we’ll be creating. Click here to view the actual size.
Step 1
As usual, we start by creating a new document the size of 1920 x 1200 pixels with a resolution of 300 ppi and select Transparent as the background. Then open this map image in photoshop and add to the document we have created. If you find a better map image, you can use your image.

Step 2
At first we remove the lines on this map. Create new layer by clicking Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Levels, and set as shown below.

After that combine the layers into one by click on one layer at layer window, press Ctrl and click on the others, right click and select Merge Layers.
Step 3
Select white as your foreground color, using a brush cover spots that are still lagging.

Now repeat step 2, but this time with a different level setting. Then connect the line side of the island on the map that is lost with the brush of black color, like at the top of the island of Borneo.

Step 4
Select white color outside of the map with the Magic Wand Tool then remove by pressing delete.

Step 5
Now we will use the texture of leaves to make a map Indonesia. Open leaf texture image in photoshop and then paste it into our document. Duplicate this leaf texture layer into three parts, reduce opacity and place as shown in the following figure.

with this arrangement, as if covering map is a sheet full of leaves.
Step 6
Return the Opacity to 100%, and combine all three into one. Load selection by pressing Ctrl + click map layer thumbnail.

Step 7
Now go to Layer > Layer Mask > Reveal Selection. Fill the background with white and we get the following picture.

Step 8
Double-click leaf texture layer to bring up layer style window, then add the drop shadow.

Step 9
To get started give depth to the background, create a new layer below all the layers except the white layer, then make a circular gradient from yellow #c3cc20 to green #4a9b0f.

Step 10
Above the gradient layer, add the texture of paper and then on the menu bar select Image > Atjustment > Desaturate, or with the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + U. Change the blending mode of this layer to Overlay with 70% Opacity.

Step 11
Duplicate the paper texture layer, then turn 180 degrees, with Overlay blending mode but with 20% Opacity.

Step 12
Set foreground color to black #000000, with a large brush size and approximately 50% hardness, coloring the edges of the image as follows.

After that, change the blending mode to Overlay with opacity 70%.
Step 13
Now we add the highlight on the image, create a circular gradient from white to tansparent in the upper left and change the blending mode to Soft Light with 50% Opacity.
